Project Overview
Home Connect is a powerful smart home automation app developed for iOS and Android, allowing users to seamlessly control all their IoT-enabled home devices from a single interface. Whether it’s lighting, fans, air conditioning, smart curtains, geysers, refrigerators, or water flow systems, the app gives complete centralized control over every smart home function.
Challenge
The key challenge was developing a highly responsive and secure platform that could integrate a wide range of smart devices from various manufacturers, each with different protocols and APIs. The app also had to ensure real-time control, low latency, and personalized automation scenarios—all while maintaining a sleek, user-friendly interface.
Research
Our research involved studying multiple home automation ecosystems and identifying pain points in existing smart home apps, such as delayed responses, poor UI, and limited multi-device compatibility. We also collaborated with IoT hardware teams to deeply understand device behaviors, connection protocols (like MQTT and BLE), and failover mechanisms.
